Course Description
CUA20620 Certificate II in Music is offered to students in partnership with the College of Sound and Music Production (RTO 41549). This qualification is for those students who have an interest in music and are keen to develop skills as a musician or producer with the aim to perform, use music technology and be involved with live music events.
Core units of competency in the program include developing and updating industry knowledge, participating in work, health and safety processes and working effectively with others. The elective units in the program allow students to develop skills in an area of their interest from preparing for performances, developing audio skills and knowledge or repairing and maintaining audio equipment. It is offered as a preparatory program and pathway into the Certificate III in Music course.

Mode of delivery:
The program will be delivered through class-based tasks that will simulate industry environment and work outcomes. Students will participate in a range of school-based performance events and or productions, and where possible engage in local community and industry activities. Students may also attend private instrumental lessons contributing to their learning.

Prerequisites: Successful Completion of Cert II in Year 11 Music VET. Option to complete Cert II Music in Year 12 through discussion with the Head of Learning Area.

This qualification is for those students who have an interest in music and are keen to develop skills for the contemporary music industry. The Certificate III in Music allows for specialisations in Performance and Sound Production.
Core units of competency in the program include developing and updating industry knowledge, participating in work, health and safety processes and working effectively with others. The elective units in the program allow students to develop skills in an area of their interest from preparing for performances, developing audio skills and knowledge or repairing and maintaining audio equipment. It is offered as a preparatory program and pathway into the Certificate IV in Music course.
