Engineering
Engineering Technology is a course that develops the student’s technical problem solving skills with a “hands on”, practical focus. This course is intended to build on the Years 8/9 Systems Technology and Materials subjects while providing an introduction to ATAR Engineering Studies which is offered in Years 11 and 12.
The course covers a wide range of topics including electronics, robotics, solar power and structures with an emphasis on developing engineering skills. Students participate in a number of major projects with the opportunity to represent the College in activities such as RoboCup.
Several activities will also include the use of CAD/CAM technology as well as designing and constructing microprocessor-based systems. This course has been specifically designed to appeal to any students thinking of pursuing a career in the rapidly growing technology industries through University, State Training Providers (STP), apprenticeships or direct employment.
