In Health and Physical Education, students learn how to enhance their own and others' health, safety, wellbeing and physical activity participation in varied and changing contexts. The Health and Physical Education curriculum offers students an experiential curriculum that is contemporary, relevant, challenging, enjoyable and physically active.
Sacred Heart College students in Years 7-10 engage in a wide range of movement and sports and throughout the curriculum. The Health and Physical Education curriculum provides opportunities for students to develop, enhance and exhibit attitudes and values that promote a healthy lifestyle.
In Year 10, students begin to focus on issues that affect the wider community. They study external influences on health decisions and evaluate their impact on personal identity and the health of the broader community. Students continue to develop and refine communication techniques to enhance interactions with others, and apply analytical skills to scrutinise health messages in a range of contexts. Students will be assessed according to the National Achievement Standards in the following strands:

The sports covered in Year 10 will be chosen by the class and their teacher.
