Students taking a non-University pathway in Year 11 and 12 (non- ATAR pathway) must study CareerLink.
Students taking a CareerLink pathway can earn up to 6 units of equivalent towards WACE.

AUTHORITY DEVELOPED WORKPLACE LEARNING (ADWPL) - ENDORSED PROGRAM (YEARS 11 OR 12)
The core skills for this work are a set of non-technical skills, knowledge and understandings that underpin successful participation in work. These skills are documented in the Core Skills for Work Development Framework (CSfW) and developed collaboratively by the Department of Industry and the Department of Education. The CSfW encompasses the Employability Skills outlined in the National Employability Skills Framework. The CSfW can be accessed via the website. The CSfW describe performance in ten Skill Areas, grouped under three Skill Clusters.

CareerLink places the students in a specific industry of their choice, and allows them to take ‘off the job training’ in TAFE related courses. Advantages for students including CareerLink in their program:
- Students gain a greater understanding of the world of work
- Promotes school/community partnerships
- Increases self esteem, confidence and responsibility
- Students see the relevance of the workplace to what is taught at school
- Further develops personal and communication skills
- The community sees vocational orientation in post-compulsory education as relevant and necessary.
- WPL enhances prospects of entry into TAFE, alternative university entry pathways and other post school destinations.
