Entrance into University
OTHER WAYS OF GAINING UNIVERSITY ENTRANCE OTHER THAN USING AN ATAR SCORE
Universities have developed other entry pathways such as the University Preparation Courses at Murdoch, Curtin, Edith Cowan and Notre Dame University and Portfolio or Experienced Based Entry Pathways at Edith Cowan, Curtin and Murdoch University. UWA does not offer a University Preparation course but accepts a 65% weighted average in other preparation courses. Students can also apply to UWA via the Experienced Based Entry scheme.

Alternative University entry considerations offered include:
- Murdoch University – On Track or On Track Sprint, Murdoch’s enabling programs and Law Start program. Murdoch also offers a Portfolio Pathway for admission to a number of majors for their Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Communications or Bachelor of Creative Media courses using a creative portfolio application.
- Edith Cowan University (ECU) – UniPrep courses and Experience Based Entry Schemes are available.. ATAR students completing Year 12 who wish to apply for a Bachelor of Music, Performing Arts (Performance Making), Arts (Arts Management), Education (Secondary) or specialising in Music Education will need to apply via TISC AND apply directly to ECU.
- The University of Western Australia (UWA) – Students can apply for Experienced Based Entry. Indigenous pathways are available.
- Curtin University – UniReady courses, Indigenous pathways, as well as Portfolio Entry Pathways, are available.
