In our modern times, Media has come to pervade every aspect of our society. It comes in a variety of forms and we are constantly bombarded with its messages. Media can be informative, persuasive, inspire our imagination, dull our senses and even shape the way we think. To come to an understanding of Media, we need to appreciate the various mediums, tools and methods that are used to create and present media messages.

Year 7 Media is an introductory course that leads to subsequent units of study. This practical “hands on” course exposes students to two aspects of media. In video production, the emphasis is on students learning basic video production skills including story boarding, using digital video cameras, basic computer editing and elementary production techniques.
