Students expand on and develop the skills learnt from Year 7 Wood Technology, in applying safe workshop practices when using multiple materials such as softwoods and hardwoods, metals as alumunium, and thermoplastics. New machinery exposure includes the use of the bandsaw and a magna-bend. Students are also introduced to the Technology Process to design and produce a birdhouse and a grazing board to suit their own desires. This course is designed to inspire students to pursue further studies in wood and metal in Year 9.
