YEAR 9 FRENCH OVERVIEW
Prerequsite: Year 8 French Grade C or higher.

French is offered in Year 8 following the Year 7 to Year 10 Sequence. In Year 8 students continue to build on the skills developed in Year 7 to communicate in French and develop their understanding of the French language and culture. Students will exchange information and discuss aspects of home, school and social life, compare routines, interests and leisure activities.
From Year 9 the study of languages is optional. As French: Second Language is offered as a WACE ATAR Course at Sacred Heart College, students can pursue the language through to Year 12. Students must study French in Years 9 and 10 in order to continue into Years 11 and 12. Students of French in Year 10 or 11 will be afforded the opportunity to participate in the biannual Tour to France.
